David Harber

No wonder he became synonymous with outdoor art. His award-winning sculptures are hard to miss, but that doesn’t mean they overwhelm their surrounding space. Quite the opposite: they seem to grow naturally out of it. Harber compensates for the sharpness of perfect geometric shapes in his works by using natural materials such as slate. When using steel and other metals, he carefully cuts them to let some light through and polishes their surface to mirror the surrounding space and all the life in it. He connects art and applied design in his signature benches, fountains, and sundials that serve their practical purposes and decorate the garden at the same time.
